Upon taking office, Mayor Mickey S. was notified that a large sum of state funds was pulled from the state account. A sum of $228 million dollars was removed from the account in a single transaction with the note “Senator Tax” leaving the state account with a small sum of roughly 220 thousand dollars on the 13th of June, two days before the budget cycle for the month was to be paid. While this would seem alarming at first glance, this administration would like to make it known that the state account has stayed positive through the term thus far (Edit: Most recent update as of June 25th).
It is this administration’s goal to ensure the people of Los Santos of 2 things. First, the senators did not pull this money maliciously. In fact, the Mayor met with Senator DW and was able to discuss the requirements of bringing in new legislation as well as City changes and improvements, and Mr. W was very acquiescent to the requests of the new mayor in that conversation. Secondly, the economic climate of the city is in a positive position for the continued funding of the State account, meaning that as it stands there will be a constant replenishing of the state account such that all budgets, needs, and assets required by all funded departments and agencies WILL remain available upon request.
It is a major goal of this administration to continue working on the economic health of the city, and we are working tirelessly to ensure the citizens of Los Santos are able to have everything necessary to live the San Andreas dream.
