Legion Square, July 1, 2022

In the mid afternoon of Friday July 1st, two men attempted to confront the Mayor for what they determined to be “legal payment,” however what is not legal is extortion, harassment, and “Murder for Hire” (aka soliciting a Hit). These are the crimes that unfolded as the men stood outside Legion Square bank demanding a large sum of money from the Mayor. It wasn't long into the interaction at Legion Square that one man offered a nominal sum of money to a passerby to assassinate the Mayor. By chance the individual was unarmed and the man was unwilling to perform such a heinous act himself.

To this point the man had called Mr. S from an unknown number demanding payment on numerous occasions. When Mr. S encountered the men by happenstance on the afternoon of the 1st and learned that one of the individuals was the one who had been calling for the funds, the other, a blonde haired individual, pulled out an unknown weapon and threatened Mr. S. The Mayor, in response, drew his legal firearm ready to defend himself and called for his security detail. When the security detail arrived the tensions continued to flare between the individuals and Mr. S.  At that point another party had entered the scene whereupon the offending party offered payment to “Kill the Mayor” however the individual did not have a gun and said he needed to procure one first. In the meantime, the Mayor called 911 to the scene and when the officer known to this administration as “Officer Willie” arrived on scene the blonde individual had chimed in with his additional (and much more substantial) offer of funds as a “murder for hire” attempt against the mayor. It was at that time that a fourth individual who had arrived on scene and overheard the "murder for hire" offers, shot Officer Willie whereupon all criminal individuals including the shooter fled the scene.  Mr. S. and his security detail stayed behind to attend to Officer Willie while first responders were en route. They were then able to provide their statements.

 

Mr. S. had interacted with the unknown individual a number of times over the previous few days in regard to the requested distribution of funds and upon each encounter the response from Mr. S. was always the same.  It is the continued harassment of Mr. S. that has caused concern for this administration and it is grateful to the security detail on guard and the members of the Unified Defense Force who have been quick to respond to this case.  Luckily in this instance there are witnesses to testify to the “Murder for Hire” plot but there is also an open investigation ongoing to identify the individual that attempted to murder Officer Willie. Any information on this individual can be brought to Officer Jones of the Unified Defense Force who is leading the investigation.

 

In regard to the “Murder for Hire” and conspiracy: we will not stand for extortion. We will not go down without a fight. We would like to encourage all citizens of Los Santos to stand up for what is right and what is good. Los Santos Strong.
